Zenon Konopka has been the busiest fighter in the NHL this season. He entered last night’s game against the New Jersey Devils with nine bouts on the season, one ahead of Columbus Blue Jackets forward Derek Dorsett, who entered last night’s action with eight bouts. Dorsett took the opportunity to level himself with Konopka by dropping the gloves with Francois Bouillon of the Nashville Predators last night, but Konopka moved ahead of him once again, thanks to his exciting bout with Devils’ tough-guy Mark Fraser.
The bout took place midway through the third period, and it was good enough to earn honors as the “Frozen Fisticuffs Fight of the Night” for Thursday, December 8, 2011.
