Many people have used the saying “When pigs fly” to describe something that is virtually impossible. Being a sports lover and die-hard hockey fan, I have often used the term “when hockey players fly” to describe the Toronto Maple Leafs chances at winning another Stanley Cup or Scott Gomez’s chances of scoring another goal (it has been over a calendar year since the $7-million/year man has last scored).
Well if that figure of speech holds true, I guess we can assume that a Leafs Stanley Cup parade and a Scott Gomez goal celebration are right around the corner after witnessing Penguins defenseman Brooks Orpik send Bruins’ forward Daniel Paille soaring through the air on Saturday night.
Check it out.
