With the trade deadline quickly approaching (IT’S TODAY!), the Los Angeles Lakers have been shopping around Pau Gasol. While Gasol has been a key member of the Lakers since they acquired him from the Memphis Grizzlies back in 2008, the Lakers can suddenly afford to lose the All-Star big man, thanks to the emergence of their other All-Star big man, Andrew Bynum.
Bynum has put together some big games this season, and he had another last night against the New Orleans Hornets, as he recorded 25 points, 18 rebounds, four assists, two steals and two blocks. Those totals helped the Lakers edge the Hornets by a score of 107-101, giving them their fourth win in a row.
That performance by Bynum is why the Lakers feel a player like Gasol is expendable, as Andrew earns “The Stat Line of the Night” for Wednesday, March 13, 2012.
