Here are some of the best sports plays for all you gamblers out there.
The Game: Boston Red Sox @ Toronto Blue Jays
The Reason: The over in the Jays vs. Red Sox didn’t come through for us last night, but that won’t scare us away from going back to it tonight. Toronto starter Kyle Drabek narrowly made the team’s starting rotation after going 4-5 with a 6.06 ERA last season. In two starts against the Red Sox last season, he allowed 12 runs over the course of nine innings. A total of 15 and 13 runs were scored in each of those games. As for the Sox, they will be going with Daniel Bard, who has a 4.07 lifetime ERA against the Jays. The Jays’ bats have yet to break out this season, but we expect the coming out party to take place tonight as this game goes over the total.
The Game: Arizona Diamondbacks @ San Diego Padres
The Reason: The Diamondbacks have gotten off to a hot start, winning their first three games of the 2012 MLB season. Tonight they take on a Padres team that has won just one of their first four games. D-Backs starter Trevor Cahill is coming off a disappointing 12-14 season with the Athletics, but a change in scenery could help him regain the form that saw him go 18-8 back in 2010. The Diamondbacks have had success against Padres starter Edinson Volquez (0-1, 5.19 ERA against the DBacks), and we expect them to have success once again tonight, as they come away with their fourth straight win to start the season.
2012 Record: (62-63-6), This Week: (0-2), Last Week: (4-4)
