brendan shanahanAfter withstanding a barrage of criticism from all angles for his decision to allow Shea Weber to go unpunished for his turnbuckle-style head-smash on Henrik Zetterberg during Game One of the Western Conference Quarterfinal series between the Red Wings and the Predators, it appears as though Brendan Shanahan is doing everything in his power to ensure that not another head shot goes unpunished throughout the remainder of the 2012 playoffs.  Frankly, he doesn’t seem to care who the perpetrator is anymore, as he has already suspended superstars Nicklas Backstrom and James Neal for one game each, and now he is suspending the glass pane at the TD Garden for a hit to the head of David Krejci following the Bruins’ Game One victory.

Interestingly enough, Shanahan decided to suspend all glass panes around the league indefinitely, which may not work out well for anyone who bought front row seats for an upcoming playoff game.

Here is a look at Shanahan’s assessment of the hit on Krejci, and his reasoning behind the indefinite suspension for all glass panes around the NHL.
