When it comes to fighting in hockey, it is difficult to say whether quantity of punches is greater than quality of punches. In some cases,it is. During last night’s bout between Zack Kassian of the Buffalo Sabres and Tom Sestito of the Philadelphia Flyers, it wasn’t, as quality easily prevailed over quantity.
Getting the advantage in the quantity department was Sestito, who started the fight with a flurry of punches. Some landed on the face of Kassian, but few did enough damage to the 6’3″ forward. And when it was finally Kassian’s turn to deliver some punches of his own, he made the most of them, as his second left hand knocked Sestito out of the game, and earned the Sabres’ tough guy a spot on the “Frozen Fisticuffs Fight of the Night” for Thursday, February 16, 2012.
