The “Stat Line of the Night” is often reserved for a single player who has put up an impressive stat line, but during last night’s on-court battle between the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Denver Nuggets, it was simply too tough for us to pick just one member of the Thunder, so we picked three.
The first is Kevin Durant, who lit up the scoreboard with a career-high 51 points to go along with eight rebounds, four steals and three assists. Next we are giving props to their point-guard, Russell Westbrook, who recorded 40 points, nine assists and four rebounds of his own. And then there was forward Serge Ibaka, who put together a big-man triple-double with his 14 points, 15 rebounds and 11 blocks. It was the first time in NBA history that a team has had a 50-point scorer, a 40-point scorer and a player with a triple double. That impressive feat helped the Thunder come away with the 124-118 overtime victory, and it also earns Durant, Westbrook and Ibaka a spot on the “Stat Line of the Night” for Sunday, February 19, 2012.
